Tasting Notes

Semi hard organic Normande cows milk cheese matured between 3-4 months. At once both sweet and savory with a very aromatic rind and a rich creamy texture. Mountaineer is both an excellent table cheese and delicious melted, for example over potato's and cornichons in the style of a Raclette.

 

About Peaks Cheese (VIC)

The Peaks Artisan Cheesemakers are Luke Armstrong and Vanessa Lipscombe. Upon completing his university studies in ecology, Luke took a job in an Italian cheese shop. This environment piqued his interest in cheese, eventually leading him to cheesemaking. A teacher by trade, Vanessa has always had a passion for food, particularly cheese. Together we make and mature The Peaks Artisan Cheesemakers full range of cheeses.

  • You are able to pick-up your order during our operating days and hours ONLY at RIPE, Shop 41/42, Dairy Hall, Queen Victoria Market:

    • Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 7am-2pm
    • Saturday: 7am-2pm
    • Sunday: 9am-2pm

    We do not provide this service on Monday & Wednesday.

  • Orders received on Monday & Wednesday will be expedited the next business day. 

     

    Our delivery person will place your order at your door, move at least 1.5m away and contact you. In the event that you are unable to receive your order, he will attempt to place it somewhere safe and inform you of said location. However, he will leave if there is not a safe place and you are liable to pay another delivery fee to get your order. 

     

    *It's FREE delivery if you are within 10km of the Queen Victoria Market. It's $10 between 10-20km or $20 between 20-40km or $25 for beyond 40km and regional Victoria.

    **For same day delivery, orders must be submitted by 9am.
